About
Hi, I’m Rocky Bilhartz. I’m an author, speaker, and practicing physician in the field of interventional cardiology and cardiovascular disease. I’m here to help you take back your health care. Medicine is supposed to be about the diagnosing, treating, and preventing of disease. But, in America, we’ve gotten all that mixed up. The patient-physician relationship has been evaporated by a myriad of third-parties fueling flames that are entirely unhelpful to actual patient care. In fact, that’s why I’m taking back medicine.
MY CONTENT
Think of me as a healthcare insider who calls it as I see it. I’m author of Finding Truth in Transparency: Our Broken Healthcare System and How We Can Heal It , a bold book that gives you an uncensored look into the healthcare problems our country is facing and the individuals best equipped to solve them. But, don’t worry about any of that right now. You are just getting to know me.
MY BIOGRAPHY
I’m a graduate of Rice University and received a joint Medical Doctor (M.D.) and Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree with specialization in Health Organizational Management from Texas Tech University Health Science Center. I completed post-graduate medical training in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and interventional cardiology at Texas A&M University Health Science Center, Scott & White Memorial Hospital. During this time, I was chosen as Intern of the Year, elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, and received the C. Charles Welch Scott & White Hospital Outstanding Resident Award, but none of that stuff defines me.
I currently have my own private practice in interventional cardiology and cardiovascular disease, and I serve as a clinical assistant professor at Texas A&M Health Science Center School of Medicine. I’m the owner and developer of ECGsource.com, an online cardiovascular medical education resource, and I’m the creator of three mobile medical education applications (ECGsource, CathSource, and EchoSource), which are available for both the iPhone and Android Operating Systems. I was named to the Texas Super Doctors 2014 Rising Stars List in Texas Monthly Magazine, and I’m board certified in Interventional Cardiology, Cardiovascular Disease, Nuclear Cardiology, and Internal Medicine. But, once again, pay little attention to accolades, because if you hang around me long enough, you’ll learn that medicine was never supposed to be about that stuff either.
MY FAMILY
I reside in College Station, Texas, with my wife, Lindsey, and our two children. Health is more than just prescriptions and pills, so from time to time you’ll get to see some of the things they teach me about the medicine of life.
